This puts the team in a position of having to win their last two games to finish in third position, giving them two chances in the semi finals.
Brothers played a power game up front with their much larger pack making plenty of metres up the centre.
With the loss of Jake Walker due to a serious knee injury early in the game, our forwards really had to work overtime with Nic Boland, Jonah Potts and Willis Arber stopping many attacking raids.
Seventeen minutes into the game Brothers scored a 60 metre try to lead 4-nil.
Jesse Corcoran put Jacob Hardy through a hole out wide beating the cover defence to score in the corner, bringing the score to 4-4.
Brothers scored two tries in a five minute period before half time to lead 14-4.
The second half saw Young start to use their speedy backs out wide resulting in two tries, one to Jesse Corcoran and one to Nic Boland.
However, the size of the Brothers pack started to take its toll with Mick Berry sustaining a knee injury and Woody Norton a broken finger.
The final score was 24-14.
With semi finals not too far away and the injuries starting to mount up, the more experienced players in the form of Brady LeStrange, Casey Wall and Angus Smith are going to have to dig deep and stay fit because we are running out of troops.
We have the bye this weekend and play Tumut at home the following Saturday which is a must win game even with the bare 13 players.
I think this is achievable because they are a team of very focused players who always play above their weight.
Tries: Jacob Hardy, Jesse Corcoran and Nic Boland.
Goals: Jesse Corcoran (1).
