“I normally open of a Sunday through Christmas, I get so many comments from people who say it’s a shame more businesses don’t open,” she said.
Following a special Christmas retail meeting two weeks ago, the chamber has started making plans to extend trading hours on Thursday nights and weekends.
They are also planning to hold Christmas markets in the lead-up to the festive season.
They’re reminding businesses to fill out the participation forms that are found at http://ydcc.com.au/christmas-retail-drive-2014/ and hand them in no later than today.
They’ll either be collected if you’re located in Boorowa Street or you can email your form to info@ydcc.com.au.
“It’s worthwhile if businesses open, that’s why I’m behind it,” Sue said.
“If businesses are open it gives somewhere for people to go.”
