On September 25, the mayors and general managers of Boorowa, Harden and Young councils met with Susan Law of LKS Quaero, the consultant they hired to undertake a review of what their best options were regarding amalgamations.
General manager Peter Vlatko said the state government has put $11 million dollars on the table as an option if Young, Harden and Boorowa were to amalgamate.
Mr Vlatko said if they chose not to amalgamate, there was still no guarantee the decision would be adopted by the state government.
“But if we do chose to amalgamate, the $11 million is guaranteed,” he said.
The councils need to have their submissions in by June 30, 2015.
Do you think Young should take the $11 million?
