The Young Cherryatrics went to the eighth Annual ARL Masters Carnival at the Gold Coast on March 5 to 7.

The tour party of 23 had another successful Gold Coast Carnival, winning five games and drawing another.
They notched up 26 tries with only six tries scored against them in very hot and humid conditions.
On Thursday they played against Yeppoon Seagulls of Queensland, defeating them 5-1. Players player was Greg LeStrange.
At 2.30pm they played Springsure Mountain Men Oldies of Queensland, defeating them 5-1. Players player was Ben Shipp.
The Friday started at 10am against Dysart Bulls of Queensland who they defeated 4-1 with man of the match being Brad ‘Pacer’ Pettit.
The 11.30am game against Noosa Cutters, also of Queensland, was again won by the Cherryatrics 4-1. Player’s player was Ted Hill.
The Cherryatrics then had a fill-in game at 12pm against Country Crustaceans of Queensland which was a 1-all draw. Player players was Michael Sutherland.
The former Young resident and household name, Michael Kearney, joined the Cherryatrics in this game.
The Saturday game was against Bayside Beavers Masters of Victoria which the Cherryatrics won 5-1. Players player was Paul “Blackie” Aston.
The player of the tour was Greg LeStrange who played some great Masters footy.
It was another successful outing for the Cherryatrics, who next line up against the Grenfell Dinosaurs in a match on March 21 at Grenfell.
