BALLARAT'S top cop has refused to comment on an investigation by Victoria's anti-corruption body into alleged "serious misconduct" by two of his members.

Superintendent Andrew Allen said it would be "inappropriate" for him to comment on alleged incidents of misconduct by two Ballarat Senior Constables.
"It's currently an investigation before IBAC and it would be inappropriate to comment at this time," he said on Tuesday afternoon.
The Independant broad-based anti-corruption commission (IBAC) allege the "serious police misconduct" involved officers using excessive force towards a vulnerable person in custody and other instances of officers using excessive force.
IBAC's anti-corruption commission will hold public examinations into the alleged misconduct later this month.
IBAC will further investigate whether the internal reporting by Victoria Police members involved in or associated with the alleged conduct was sufficient.
They will also investigate the way Victoria Police handles complaints relating to alleged excessive use of force by Victoria Police members.
A Victoria Police statement released on Tuesday said two Ballarat Senior Constables, a male and a female, had been suspended with pay, pending the outcome of the examinations and an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.
"The Ballarat community can be assured there will be no impact on police service delivery to the area and police remain committed to keeping their local community safe," the statement said.
"Victoria Police will continue to consult with IBAC during the examinations and provide all support required.
"As the investigations are current and ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further."
The public examinations will be held at the County Court of Victoria April 15, 17 and 20.
