Playing the Young Coyotes at Twigg Oval, Canowindra they suffered their second loss of the season falling 10 runs shy in chase of 119.
A game high innings of 53 from the Coyotes' Mick Ashton was the difference between the two sides as Canowindra struggled to develop any threatening partnerships.
Coyotes new-ball bowler Brett Humphreys did the damage removing both opening batsmen Ben Schaefer (0) and Jacob Devlin (18) on his way to a four-wicket haul.
Brendan Traves (30), Kane Schofield (16) and Zac Brunton (16) all showed some resistance in the middle order but failed to get Canowindra over the line.
Coyotes captain Ben Allen was impressed with his bowlers, particularly towards the final overs, and admitted their total was sub-par.
"We were hoping for a few more, probably 150, but we knew if we bowled well and bowled tight we'd be able to defend it," the winning skipper said.
"I thought Josh [Carmody] bowled really well for us, and Brett [Humphreys] got the rewards taking a few wickets.”
After winning the toss and batting, the Coyotes lost a cluster of wickets as a Canowindra captain Traves bagged three in his opening spell.
Ashton took the aggressive approach, going aerial on several occasions to give his side the momentum but he was finding it hard to find someone to hold up the other end.
A change of bowling brought him unstuck on 53, and the Coyotes were 9-91, but a 26-run last wicket partnership between Beau Elsey (22) and Mick White (9 not out) proved extremely valuable.
Canowindra started the task poorly losing three wickets in the opening six overs, and from there it was an uphill battle.
The final wicket fell in the 37th over when Ashton had Shaun Craven edging behind with only 10 more runs required.
"That's two wins and a loss now, they've all been close games so it's been good cricket," Allen said after the match.
"I think we're back over here next week playing Valleys, we're hoping to get on a bit of a roll."
