After all three respective cricket associations held very successful seven-a-side tournaments over the weekend, all eyes now turn back towards the South West Slopes Cricket League and the race for the finals.

Only two rounds remain in the competition’s benchmark division - the Delta Agribusiness Premier League - with action resuming tonight under lights at Young’s Alfred Oval in a match between the S&C Young Ones and the Cootamundra Crusaders.
The last time both teams met back in Round 4 it was the Cootamundra Crusaders who easily accounted for their opponents, however the Young Ones have enjoyed seeing some of their younger players start to step up against their more experienced opponents in recent times.
They now sit nicely inside the Premier League’s top four while they continue to push for a home semi-finals which they can secure with two strong performances in the final two rounds of the regular season.
The match starts at 6pm with a sausage sizzle and beverages available during the game which is the first competitive match played under lights in Young in many years, and becomes just the second match of the SWSCL to be played under lights.
In other Delta Agribusiness Premier League matches, played on Saturday, the Cootamundra Ex-Services Club take on Central Hotel at the home of cricket in Cootamundra, Albert Park, while the Commercial Scorchers look to keep their faint finals hopes alive when they host the Mimosa Whirlwinds at Gus Smith Oval with both matches starting at 1.30pm.
The Dunk Insurance Premiership however sees three rounds still remaining in their competition and five teams are still battling it out for the top four positions.
While Wallendbeen remain unbeaten during the 2015/2016 season and are destined to finish top of the ladder to host the semi-final, Stockinbingal, Criterion Gunners, Family Hotel Blues and the Young Hotel Saints are all in a battle to either secure a top four position or fighting for the right to host the other remaining semi-final.
Round 12 action in the Dunk Insurance Cup see’s the Young Hotel Saints host Stockinbingal at Keith Cullen Oval in what is a must-win match for the Saints to stay in touch with the competitions top four, while the match of the round will no doubt be the undefeated Wallendbeen side taking on the equal second place Criterion Gunners team at Barry Grace Oval.
The Temora Tigers - one of just three teams who are out of finals contention - take on the Family Hotel Blues at Nixon Park with the Temora-based team able to cause an upset at make the job for the Blues harder.
While, finally, at Young’s Henry Miller Oval the winless Commercial Phoenix will be looking to build on their recent form of pushing the top teams in their grade to the limit when they host the Temora Ex-Services Renegades.
With both teams out of finals contention it is a matter of playing for pride and after checking off so many milestones throughout the season for the newest team the Phoenix has just one more box to tick, that being a win in which they will be hoping to achieve.
