A YOUNG man jailed for a minimum of three years after he was convicted of having sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 10 years has been named.

A non-publication order on the identity of the 34-year-old was lifted when the accused appeared in Sydney Downing Centre District Court on Friday, April 8.
The man has been identified as Wayne Allan Anthony Quinn.
Quinn was alleged to have committed the offence between December 2012 and November 2013 when the child was in his care.
He was arrested on February 18, 2014 after authorities were alerted to allegations when comments were made to a teacher at a primary school.
Judge Stephen Norrish SC sentenced Quinn to seven years’ imprisonment, with a non-parole period of three years and six months.
Quinn will not be eligible for parole until October 7, 2019.
