Young Yabbies First Grade captain Hagon Williams expressed his frustration after his team went down to the Canberra Royals on the weekend.

The Royals lead 28-nil at half time before a pep talk from clubman Mick Hudson switched the Yabbies on to score four tries in second half. The comeback wasn’t enough, the Yabbies going down 33-26.
Tries to Ethan Richens, Jeshua Smith, Dave Crowley and Curtis Targett showed strength by crossing the line for tries.
Jeshua Smith lead the charge earning 3 points followed by Ben Simmons and Tom Donnan with 2 and 1.
“We’ve been doing this all season, we play one good half of footy and we’re nowhere to be seen in the other half,” Williams said.
“We’re capable of great rugby we just need to switch on and make it happen.”
It was another close game in Second Grade when the Yabbies scored five tries to the Royals’ four, but failed conversions saw Canberra take a painful 26-25 win.
Connor McGregor scored three tries for the Yabbies, while Corey Randell and Henry Nott also scored.
Coach Tom Wills said the team switched on after a slow start to the game, with the forwards setting a strong platform for the backs to finish off strong set plays.
Scott Astin, Connor McGregor and Julien Roles had spectacular games to earned points this week.
