The Lions Club of Young capped off a very successful Deb of the Year Ball when they received a donation of $500 from the Young Services Club.
Lions Club of Young members Marie Tame, Jan Gorman and Helen Sell were presented with a cheque by Young Services Club Duty Officer Brad Pettit.
The Lions Club enjoyed one of the biggest Deb of the Year balls in a long time, with more than 200 people in attendance.
Lions Club secretary Helen Sell said the donation will be put to good use.
“The donation will be used to cover the cost of the band which everyone enjoyed,” Helen said.
“The Lions Club of Young would like to thank the Young Services Club for their continued support.
“They have been a sponsor of the ball for 11 years now.
“Without there help, the ball would not have been the great success it was.
“It was great that the 50th deb was so big and will be one to remember,” she said.
