A backyard Fruit Tree Care and Pruning Workshop is coming to Young this month. The workshop is an initiative of Landcare and will be held from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, August 6.

The workshop will cover soil biology, ground preparation, fruit tree pruning and grafting and fruit fly awareness and management strategies. Cost is $10 per person.

Saturday, August 6, will also see the first Young & Region Farmers Market for the month. There will be a variety of stalls at Anderson Park from 9am to 12noon,
with a wide range of local produce offered by local producers.
A Ladies Pamper and Relaxation Day offering information, great food and entertainment will be held on Thursday, August 11, at Young.
The day is being organised by Naomi Peters and her team at “The Hub” Young Neighbourhood Centre.
This is the fourth year of this event and venue is the Young Services Club.
There’s a motivational speaker and a variety of pamper stalls including.
The cost of $15 includes entry, food and all activities. For more details contact The Hub on 6382 6328.
The Uniting Church Markets will be held on Saturday August 13 at the church hall and grounds located at the corner of Cloete & Lynch Streets.
Stalls with a variety of goods and refreshments will be available. The market will be held from 8am to 1pm. Prospective stall holders are welcome and should phone Glenda on 6382 1519 for requirements.
If you enjoy music then the regular Morning Melodies series at the Young Services Club is a must.
This month you'll find the Young Regional School of Music guitar teacher Hovert Gonzales listed on the program on August 18.
The concert starts at 10.30 and tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children and are available at the door.
Soprano Simone Easthope and Pianist Benjajin Moser will present a concert featuring works by Schumann, Debussy Gershwin and Mussorgsky to Young on August 19.
The performers come all the way from Germany, the concert starts at 7pm and is hosted by the Young Regional School of Music.
