The Young Cherrypickers Rugby League Club donated proceeds from their Domestic Violence Awareness Day to a worthy organisation recently.
Both the junior and senior clubs felt strongly about creating awareness of the cause, with Young having one of the highest reported incidents of domestic violence in NSW.
Money was raised through raffles and a cake stall, with over 450 members in both clubs – and their supporters – in attendance on the day.
The club thanks all who helped make the day possible, including local businesses who provided donations and raffle prizes, with thanks to the following: Jolly Roger, Elevations Resturant, Rapjam Catering, Renee McInerney Remedial Massage, Boorowa IGA and Jewlz n Things Young.
“As a club we will look at other ways that in 2017 we can make this day bigger and better,” Cherryettes’ Jess McInerney said.
