Member for Cootamundra, Katrina Hodgkinson is encouraging local organisations and groups to apply for grants of up to $5,000 to host events during the 2017 NSW Seniors Festival.

The NSW Seniors Festival will be held from Friday, March 3, to Sunday, March 12, 2017.
The NSW Seniors Festival Grants Program helps local councils and groups host events in their local communities during the Festival.
“The NSW Seniors Festival is about recognition and celebration,” Katrina said.
“It is a time when the community recognises and celebrates the incredible contribution older people make to our community..
“This grant funding will help local organisations arrange local events for older people in the Cootamundra electorate.
“Hosting an event is a great way to show appreciation, as well as help older people stay active.
“I would encourage any local group or organisation planning to hold an event during 2017 NSW Seniors Festival to apply.”
Community groups can apply for up to $1,000 to deliver local events or activities, and local governments and larger community organisations can apply for grants ranging from $1,001 to $5,000 for bigger events or activities.
“The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest celebration for older people in the southern hemisphere,” Katrina added.
“This Grants Program helps ensure everyone, no matter where you are in our great State, can enjoy the celebration.
“Get in an apply for one of these grants today,” she said.
The 2017 NSW Seniors Festival Grants Program will focus on events that are public, held in regional or remote areas, tailored to culturally and linguistically diverse and Aboriginal communities, and offer unique and engaging intergenerational activities.
