Emergency services were called to the scene of an accident on Henry Lawson Way near Young when a passerby noticed a vehicle seriously damaged a short distance from the road.
The accident proved fatal for the male driver of the maroon Toyota Camry who is yet to be identified.
It appears the vehicle was on Bribbaree Road attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Henry Lawson Way heading towards Young.
The passerby called emergency services (triple 0) at approximately 9.30am with Police, Ambulance and Fire and Rescue all attending the scene.
At this stage it is unknown what caused the single vehicle accident.
Crash investigators are going over the scene in an attempt to determine the cause.
A spokesperson from Young Police Station reminded the community to be careful on the road.
“Be safe while driving on our roads and be mindful of other vehicles. Everyone in the vehicle should always wear seat belts no matter how short the journey is.”
