In a very busy and rewarding year, the Young Hospital Auxiliary has participated in a variety of events in an effort to raise money for equipment for the hospital.
They recently held their annual general meeting with the committee returned to their respective positions.

During the year, the Auxiliary has purchased various items for the comfort and safety of patients and for medical procedures costing a total of $13,756.
They included a vein illuminator ($692), a high-low bed ($3,620) eight normal ward chairs, six shower chairs and two bariatric chairs (which support people weighing up to 200kg), totalling $6,679, and three Urine Chemistry Analysers ($1,982).
They also purchased a dryer ($329) and TV ($454) for the Doctor’s Accommodation.
Unfinalised purchases include a CO2 machine, an Oroscope (partly funded from the LHAC dinner) and two Life Pack Machine upgrades.
Another highlight of the year was their hosting of the Zone Conference, which resulted in many compliments on Young, the Country Club venue, the guest speaker and the food members prepared.
During the year the Hospital Auxiliary welcomed five new members, with the present membership being 32.
Many of the members have served the community for a long time, and it was with great appreciation that Linda Swales, UHA Riverina Area Representative and State President of UHA, presented Madge Styles with her 30 year Service Bar.
She also presented Cathy Shannon with her 15 year service certificate.
The meeting was also delighted to recognise the service Nancy McGregor has given to Health and the Hospital by appointing her Patron of the Hospital Auxiliary.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, September 1, in the Hospital Meeting room.
