The Club held the third Western Action and fast draw competition for 2016, this time contesting “ The John Harris Memorial Trophy “ held over two days.
The weather was excellent, bright and sunny, a change to what the area has been experiencing lately.
Numbers were down slightly due to other commitments but the competition level remained high.
Western Action was held on day one, which involves various scenario’s with Pistol, Lever Action Rifle and shotgun all being used.
All firearms must be period correct .
The second day’s competition is the Fast Draw, which requires both speed and accuracy.
The Target must be hit, quick reflexes are also required, and a separate event for reaction time produced some surprising results.

Mick Gardiner had ONE time of .197 which again was quickest of the day, although his Son Reece never went above .240 for the fiveimes, VERY quick and consistent. All in all it was a great weekend’s competition with the Shooter’s looking forward to the next event in November.
