A local man is lucky to be alive after he was gored twice in the leg by a bull on Friday afternoon.
Paramedics were called to Allandale Road scene around 4pm where they found the 49-year-old male with two puncture wounds to his left leg. NSW Ambulance Inspector, Stephen Pollard, said he suffered considerable blood loss.
The man was stabilised at the scene by paramedics and taken to Young District Hospital for further stabilisation before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital by an Orange-based helicopter for urgent surgery.
“Last reports he was in a stable condition,” Pollard said. “He’s just a lucky man that it wasn’t 20km out of town. You don’t see that sort of work very often but our paramedics are highly trained to look after any situation.”
Paramedics also responded to a quad bike accident at Jugiong at 6.30pm Sunday night. The 44-year-old female patient was airlifted to Canberra after sustaining bad fractures to her right arm requiring urgent surgery.
