The club hosted the monthly medal for December as Saturday’s competition. In conjunction, the medal of medals for 2016 was decided. Fortuitously, all competing members on Saturday qualified.

It was a very close contest with the ladies field separated by one stroke. The men’s field was separated by only two strokes.
Ladies winner with a nett 70 was Maree Marland who took out both the December monthly medal and the ladies medal of medals for 2016. All other ladies were one shot behind.
Men’s winner of the December monthly medal and the men’s medal of medals for 2016 with a nett 68 was Peter Frecklington. All other men were two shots behind.
There were birdies to Kate Marwood-Craig on the sixth and to Tania Baldwin on nine, which is the Betty Freck birdie hole, so an extra ball to Baldwin. Also a birdie to George Gerrard on seventeen and to Frecklington on the eighteenth, the other Betty Freck Birdie hole. There were also gobbles to Baldwin on nine and Marwood-Craig on six.
Nearest the pin for the ladies to Baldwin with 400 centimetres on the seventh, and for the men to Gerrard on the seventeenth, coincidentally also 400cm. Next Saturday will be a single stableford, hitting off at 8.00am.
