Combined Pensioners and Superannuates Association Young branch held their Christmas party and awards ceremony on Monday, December 5 with 79 members in attendance.
Congratulations and happy 100th birthday to Les Murray who was presented our club’s 100th birthday certificate and card. Marie McCabe celebrated her 90th birthday and received our club’s 90th birthday certificate and card.
Dot Jeffriess president’s award for 2016 was a three-way tie. Dot recognised the three committee members who helped her with paperwork at all meetings.
Congratulations to assistant treasurer Gwen Bell who records all social and trip payments before meetings for one hour which is a huge workload, and to our two assistant secretaries Jenny Glenn and Gail Hill. Jenny takes minutes at meetings and looks after the attendance book and apologies, while Gail reads the minutes and correspondence at all meetings.
Without the help of these three committee members Dot couldn’t complete her work as secretary-president and as social secretary. Take a bow Gwen, Gail and Jenny.
A certificate of Excellence was presented to our treasurer, Wilma Moors, who is also our assistant social secretary. Congratulations Wilma.
Dot also recognised a Christ Wright, Wal Penfold, George Somerville, Margaret Haines, Alf Hill and Alan O’Sullivan. Congratulations and thank you.
Norm Bell was recognised for all his help Melva Cloake who was awarded the club’s 10 Years of Loyalty certificate.
