The weather is heating up and it is important that everyone considers their emergency fire plans in preparation for what is shaping up to be the perfect environment for bushfires this year.
I encourage you to set aside time to ensure you are prepared.
I would like to mention an issue that is very important in our rural communities, especially at this time of the year.
Community transport enables those who are limited by age and ability to access volunteers that will drive them to and from medical appointments, social activities and shopping centres.
It has been brought to my attention that our community transport services are short on drivers.
Please consider volunteering in your local areas, especially at such an important time of year.
I am pleased to have seen Santa in the Hilltops during what is a busy time for him preparing gifts for all those on the good list.
There is still time for those on the naughty list to make the change!
Mr and Mrs Claus visited the Boorowa Carols for Candlelight and I assure you, there is no greater joy than witnessing the faces of children lighting up when Santa comes to town.
The holiday season is a timely reminder for us all to enjoy the company of family and friends and share in the true joy of time spent together.
I encourage people to consider shopping locally when making Christmas purchases and spread the joy that comes with supporting our local businesses.
Every dollar helps the Hilltops regional economy, employs local people and encourages local business to have a presence in our communities.
This Christmas, our businesses need your support.
