​Race one is for horses whose trainer has not won more than two races in the previous 2016/17 season. With this in mind, the selection for the race is the C3 pacer Hijacked who won impressively here four starts back but finished well back at Wagga last Tuesday night and looks well placed. Dangers to the Eric McDermott trained pacer are Innocent Crocker, Lombo Yankee Invader and Ima Jaymar.

Race two is a fast class event over 1,720 m and again this small field looks very competitive. Pole marker Poco Aces would be expected to lead in this type of race but could be challenged by Our Braxton and Smack Dab Shannon. The Grenfell trained Holy Camp Clive is starting to regain form for Robert and Clive Anderson and should be finishing off strongly over the concluding stages of the race.

Race three of the afternoon is over the longer 2,100 m and a field of eight three-year-olds will face the starter. Lucky Lyla has been consistent in recent weeks and is drawn well while Kiss The Aviator resumed last start to finish fourth and will be improved by that outing. The Glenn Wilmot trained Up All Night ran second first up and could be in the firing line if forward enough in condition.

Race four is again one with special handicap conditions, horses that are yet to win a race will be contesting the 2,100 m $5,100 event. Mister Satchmo from gate five and Blackmagic Shannon from gate nine have both good recent form.

Racing will revert to the 1,720 m start for race five with a capacity field of 10 runners evenly matched with no real standout engaged. Rekindled Luck, Crusty, who ran an honest fourth at Wagga on Tuesday night when driven by Reece Maquire, Mako Bay, and Tulhurst Cash all have claims in this and racing luck will play a major part in the final outcome.

The final race of the afternoon has again special handicap conditions which has attracted another capacity field. Polemarker Another Buddy caught the eye with a very good second at Parkes last Sunday and under patient driving by new owner Mark Cullen, the previously Canberra trained chestnut could spring a surprise in this. Alisons Jet, Carl Slim Dada and Snoop Stride all look well placed in this and Thanku Thanku, who won five starts back has again the services of Tod Day and could possibly surprise again.

Free admission and the usual amenities will be available to patrons with the first race timed to start at 2.42 p.m.
