Sam Newbrun landed the perfect shot on the par-three, 178m 10th hole to claim the Mercedes-Benz C 300.
“It wasn’t a full six-iron, but it was just perfect into the wind a little bit,” he said excitedly.
“I just hit the perfect little fade and landed just short, trickled up right of the pin and ended up dropping in.
“We just exploded, over the moon, exhilarated."
“I couldn’t think about much, but (was) hitting it epic.”
Based at Sydney’s Long Reef, it’s been a tough time for the 27-year old.
“I’ve gone away to play golf and come back with nothing a fair bit,” he said.
