The locals are two out of over 2000 Australians who will take part in handing the baton on its way to the Gold Coast for the Games.
When Paul found out that his fellow baton bearer from Young would be Lester Sheather he was very excited.
“With all of Les’ achievements he is leagues more deserving than me,” he said.
The relay will start in Australia from Canberra on January 25 and 26 before it travels to Wagga, Narranderra, Griffith, West Wyalong and Forbes on January 29 where Les and Paul will do their legs with the baton.
The relay will continue around New South Wales before it heads to Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory and finally Queensland where it will make its way to the Gold Coast between April 1 – 4, 2018 for the Commonwealth Games.
