For Grade Three Geoff DeBritt defeated Dave Quigley 16–15, Cliff Traynor defeated Russell Boyd 27–16 and Kevin Porter lost to Brian Madden 18–20.
Also at Young the Grade Four side lost to Boorowa Ex–Services 53–56 with Colin Stokell losing to Chris Grimson 17–27, Denis Rosen defeating Des Grimson 15–12 and Joe Bargwanna defeating Darryl Murphy 21–17.
Young’s Grade Five side had a bye and the Bribbaree–Young Grade Seven side lost to Stockinbingal 62–74.
Saturday’s first round games in the District Singles saw Rob Anderson 31 d Mike Barber 29 and Damien Miller 31 d Brendan McAlister 30.
In the second round David Ward 31 d Graham Murray 20, Peter Watts 31 d Bill Manwaring 18, Dylan McAlister 31 d John Harriott 24, Rob Anderson 31 d Bevan McAlister 28 and Damien Miller 31 d Ron Rosengreen 22. Rob McAlister and Peter Slater both won on forfeit and Russell Boyd progressed when David Quigley was unable to complete their game due to injury.
In the Senior Singles the semi–finals will see Jim White playing Bob New and Terry McDonald playing Terry Mulligan.
One semi–final remains in the President’s Reserve Singles with Geoff Manwaring to play Terry Smith and the winner to play Mark Armstrong in the final.
On Saturday in the Club Pairs games Stuart and James Freudenstein defeated Greg Woods and Kevin Porter 27–11 and Joe Read and Justin Nowlan defeated Milan Brankovic and Albert Carter 33–18.
There was also one game in this event played on Thursday with Peter Berry and Joe Hennock defeating Tom Preston and Cliff Traynor 23–15.
In the normal Thursday play Ian Gailey and Harold Anderson took out the vouchers with a margin of 10 shots.
Only four players took part in Saturday’s Jackpot Bowls. The winning team of Andrew Hutchison and Steve Barnes had a margin of 16 shots and shared the $200 jackpot with Stuart and James Freudenstein.
