Young’s Grade two side scored a 76–31 win over Cootamundra Ex–Services with Dave Quigley winning 26–7, Russell Boyd losing 16–17 and Brian Madden winning 34–7. The Young side will play in the Zone 8 finals in June.
The Grade three side defeated Quandialla 82–50. Kevin Porter won 34–14, Bill Maloney lost 17–20 and Geoff DeBritt won 31–16.
At Cootamundra Country Club the Grade four side lost all three games. Joe Bargwanna lost 8-27, Colin Stokell lost 12–32 and Denis Rosen lost 17–21.
Despite winning on two rinks the Grade five side lost to Cootamundra Country Club 54–77. The two winners were Tony Ruhl 26–22 and Terry Mulligan 26–10.
Thanks to all the players who represented the club in the Pennant competition.
On Saturday morning in the quarter–finals of the District Singles Peter Watts defeated Robert Anderson 31–26, Damien Miller defeated Dylan McAlister 31–13, David Ward defeated Peter Slater 31–18 and Russell Boyd won by forfeit.
The results of the semi–finals were that Russell Boyd defeated Peter Watts 31–19 and Damien Miller defeated David Ward 31–13. The final will be played on Saturday afternoon.
Also on Saturday two games of Club Pairs were played. Joe Read and Justin Nowlan defeated Garry Fish and Colin Stokell 22–13 and Peter Berry and Joe Hennock defeated David Donges and Grant Fuller 24–15.
In a Club Pairs game played on Thursday afternoon Geoff and Neal Hines defeated Mick Manning and Denis Rosen.
There were just two games played in Jackpot Bowls on Saturday. The vouchers sponsored by Penrose Funerals were won by Max Penfold and Steve Barnes with a margin of seven shots.
There was a very good attendance of 28 players on Thursday afternoon. The winners for the day with the big margin of 26 shots were Terry Holmes and Albert Carter.
