First grade went down to Peak Hill 32-20 with the match a tight contest and a real arm wrestle with the score going backwards and forwards for most of the first half.
Two quick tries out of the gate from Peak Hill in the second half saw the Roosters take a 10-point lead.
Tries went to John Ryan (2), Brett Campbell and Jake Rudd with Paul Lewis converting twice.
Best and fairest went to Brett Campbell with three points, John Ryan with two and Paul Lewis with one. John Ryan was names player’s player.
“The boys should hold their heads high, it was a great contest out in the middle, we just need to cut out the silly errors in our half and giving away prime field position,” Captain/coach Paul Lewis said.
