Conditions were better on Saturday afternoon although the wind was quite chilly.
Saturday bowls
On Saturday in a semi–final of the Club Singles Peter Watts defeated Russell Boyd 31–13.
The first half of the game was evenly contested with Peter leading 14–12 after 13 ends.
From that point Peter dominated the scoring to qualify for the final.
He will play Damien Miller in the final on Saturday afternoon.
Jackpot bowls
There were 14 other players involved on Jackpot Bowls on Saturday.
The winning teams and their margins were Darryle Miller and Peter Slater (six shots), Kevin Bryant and Vic Brown (six shots) and Peter Berry, Ian Schofield and Ged Hardman (three shots).
After a count–back the Penrose Funerals sponsored vouchers went to Darryle and Peter.
Sunday morning bowls
Ten players were involved on Sunday morning.
The winning team with the very good score of 16 points consisted of Ann Gardner and Albert Carter.
Damien plays at Ballina
During the week Damien Miller played in the NSW Greenkeeper’s Championships at Ballina.
Damien lost a quarter–final of the Singles by just one shot (25–24) and he and Rod Crean from the Lawson club were beaten in a semi–final of the Pairs.
Good luck to Geoff Holt and Peter Watts who will be members of the Zone Eight Seniors side.
The side is playing in the Inter–Zone Championships at Figtree Bowling Club on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
In addition to the final of the Club Singles to be played on Saturday there are several games of Club pairs scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
