The educational and exciting event will commence from 12pm for a 12.30pm start to the serving of the meal which will be provided as a part of the day.
Every year the Country Women’s Association studies a country and this year the country the organisation will be learning all about is Poland.
The local Country Women’s Association ladies will be making some delicious Polish recipes for the meal, both main course and desserts which those in attendance will be able to enjoy.
The desserts look particularly delicious!
There will also be a guest speaker whose father was Polish which will give a great insight into the country and its people.
The guest speaker has visited Poland on a number of occasions to see relatives still living in Poland so her presentation will be very insightful.
She will be able to discuss what modern Poland is like with its beautiful lakes such as Lake Oleckie Wielie and extensive river systems, the longest river being the Vistula.
On the northern Baltic Coast there are fertile plains which yields fields of rich crops including wheat, potatoes, rye, canola, cabbage, apples, strawberries and currents.
Poland has strong ties with Australia including the naming of Mt Kosciusko by the explorer Strzelecki.
Other famous Polish people include Frederick Chopin, Marie Curie and astronomer Nicholas Copernius.
Cost for the event is $15 which includes a two course meal and everyone is welcome to come and enjoy good food and entertainment.
Anyone wishing to attend is asked to RSVP by Tuesday July 10 to Lyn Callaghan on 63837268 or 0429638372.
