On Saturday afternoon they defeated John Salter and Barry Smith (Batlow) 17–14 and followed this up with a 22–15 win over Ian Cooper and Warren Charlton (Junee) on Sunday morning.
In the final they were opposed to Bruce and Trevor Firman from Temora. In a very low scoring game the scores were level at 13–all after the standard 21 ends. The umpire was called to decide the shot on the extra end with Damien and David winning the measure and the game 14–13.
They will contest the state finals in this event at Ballina at the start of October.
Saturday afternoon saw 30 players involved at the club.
Two games of Minor Pairs were played with Peter Berry and Joe Hennock led Trevor Howell and Joe Bargwanna 18–12 with 2 ends to play and held on to win 18–17.
Brian March and Colin Stokell outscored Scott Douglas and Mark Brownlie on the final 5 ends of their game to win 27–17 after Scott and Mark overcame an early deficit to lead 16–14.
In Jackpot bowls the vouchers went to Michael Webb, Quinton Evans and Harold Anderson who won their game by 12 shots.
Other winners and their margins were Colin Powell and James Maloney (7), Kevin Bryant and Vic Brown (4), Albert Carter and Russell Boyd (2) and Denis Rosen and Ged Hardman (2).
Thursday afternoon saw 28 players on the green in very pleasant conditions. The winners for the day were Brian March and Cliff Traynor with a margin of 18 shots.
Just 10 players took part in Sunday morning play with the winning team consisting of Scott Douglas, Zita Farrell and Joe Hennock with a score of 15 points.
Good luck to the women’s Grade 2 Pennant side that will be contesting the state finals at Canton Beach during the week.
