Emma Godsell was up against two incredibly tough components for the title of the Young 2018 Miss Showgirl.
Emma Godsell, Emme Williams and Cassie Boland were all running for first place, but it was Emma who stood out most to the judges, managing to take the title home at the end of the day.

Emma was surprised at having placed first as she hadn’t entered herself in the hopes of winning, more so to inspire other girls in the Young community to put themselves out there and have the confidence to do so.
“It was a new experience and it turned out to be a good experience,” Emma said.
“I wasn’t in it to win it, so it was a bit of a surprise to me when I found out that I had won, but from me doing it I had hoped to give other girls the courage to do it in the future too.
“I hope to have shown the younger girls in Young and across rural NSW that it is not a scary experience to put yourself out there and that it is a fun time,” Emma said.
Next, Emma will be competing for the Showgirl title at Zone, which will also be held in Young in 2019.
“It has been an amazing experience and I have had the absolute best weekend, it’s been so much fun,” Emma said.
Emma can’t wait to continue her Showgirl journey into the future and is excited to face any and all new challenges to come in the future.

“It was all about a new adventure for me. I’m all about new experiences and i just wanted to do something different, that’s why I initially entered myself in the competition,” Emma said.
“It just so happened to have been a good decision for me to have made.”
Emma Godsell is only 19 years of age and is enthusiastic about her new endeavor and where she can potentially go from here on, as the competition will continue for her into 2019.
Emma has a genuine interest and knowledge of rural NSW, which was one of the reasons she was chosen as Miss Showgirl for 2018.
Emma said that the competition has always stood out to her and that she has always had an interest in the Show and the society behind the Young Show.
“I’m definitely happy that I entered the competition and I’m thankful to have gotten to experience this journey,” Emma said.
