Young won the shield last year, but this year, despite the perfect weather, a lot of enthusiasm and some extremely good bowls, the Young Ladies lost to Cowra with an unfortunate score of 113 to 68.
Heather Bailey, the relatively new president of Young women’s bowling club for 2018, is ecstatic with the performances from all of the female bowlers over the past few weeks, regardless of any outcome. She happily handed the shield to Cowra President, Joan Bailey.
Champion of club champion pairs
Margo Parker and Elsie Hines are currently at Rosehill Bowling Club, Carlingford in Sydney this week to play in the Champion of Club Champion Pairs.
This will be the last time this event is going to be held as it has been replaced with a new event by the Women’s Bowls NSW to come in 2019.
