Owned by Young’s Keith Carmody and bred locally, Don’t Give A Damn was beat by Belfyer, Suncraze and Awesome Pluck.
Belflyer, a seven-year-old gelding having his first start at Randwick, was a $71 outsider and won $685,000. The horse was ridden by Cowra product Adam Hyeronimus and is trained by John Shelton.

In a statement released by Danny Williams on his Twitter profile, it was revealed that Don’t Give A Damn will race again a Randwick in two weeks.
“Don’t Give A Damn had every chance yesterday. Unfortunately he was again slow away not able to muster enough speed early to put himself into a comfortable position,” it said.

“Raced wide without cover but battled on well. Tough run he’ll be better suited up in distance on better ground. He has come through the run well eating up last night and will be entered for an open in two weeks time back at Randwick 1400m.”
The Everest was won by Redzel for a second straight year.
