Up until Thursday afternoon, about 1pm, Young had recorded 2.2mm of rain this week with the majority falling in Wednesday’s deluge.
While the forecast early in the week was for rain up to 20mm on Wednesday, residents had to enjoy a brief five to 10 minutes downpour.
Thursday had been partly cloudy, up to about 1pm, with a chance of an afternoon storm.
Temperatures are expected to heat up in the coming weeks with next Tuesday forecast to edge close to the 30 degrees mark for the first time since the middle of April.
The Burea of Meteorology has predicted a top of 26 degrees on Saturday and 22 degrees on Sunday with a 70 per cent and 50 per cent chance of less than 10mm of rain on each day respectively.
