After more than 25 years at the helm of Terry Bros Furniture and Bedding, local business legend Mick Terry has decided to hand in his keys and ease into retirement.
But that doesn’t mean the end of the road for his successful business. Keeping it all in the family, Mick’s nephews have stepped in and purchased the business.
There are new owners, a new look and new products – right in time for the New Year.

Ryan Terry and his wife Corinne have teamed with Kurt Terry and his wife Tammy to reboot the popular furniture and bedding store.
For the last two-and-a-half decades Mick ran the store as an independent business, but looking forward the store will now be part of the Homemakers group.
“So there are new owners, a new look and new products – right in time for the New Year,” marketing manager Casey Bowerman said.
As current owners of three Carpet Court stores (Young, Yass and Cootamundra), Ryan and Kurt have plenty of business experience under their belts and have big plans for this outlet’s future.
The store in the recognisable “big pink building” has gone, with a complete renovation to coincide with the rebranding under the Homemakers banner. Just in time for the grand opening on Saturday, December 1, the refurbished Terry Bros is fresh and inviting.
And ready to welcome customers will be the store’s manager Cailtlin McAway, who has taken this position after building a decade of retail experience at the Grenfell Pharmacy.
“Cailtlin is very stylish and has a love of interior design, so this role was right up her alley,” Ms Bowerman said.
“With plenty of experience, Daniel Wiggins continues as warehouse manager and in sales, after working with Mick for six years.”
And, in the best of both worlds for customers, being part of the Homemakers group means the store can offer products from the franchise’s catalogue as well as from independent suppliers.
“We have everything from mattresses, dining suites, lounges, bedroom suites, coffee tables to outdoor furniture. There’s also indoor furnishings like candles, table accessories, pillows and bed covers,” Ms Bowerman said. “Everything to make your home look beautiful and feel stylish.”
Head down this Saturday, December 1 (8.30am - 2pm) for the grand opening barbecue. There will be a jumping castle, face painting and fairy floss to keep the kids happy while parents grab a bargain.
