A man from Young who appeared in court via audio visual link in jail has been disqualified from driving for seven months and ordered to enter a community corrections order, once he’s released from jail.

Kevin Rattenbury, 47, is behind bars in relation to separate matters, however he was convicted at Young Local Court on Wednesday, December 12 after pleading guilty to drink driving.
Police facts tendered at court reveal Rattenbury was stopped driving a white Holden Commodore by police about 1.10am on Saturday, October 6.

A breath test indicated a positive indication to alcohol.
“I had a couple of beers about one hour ago,” he told police.
A police statement said he consumed more than five full strength beers.
He was taken to the police station and he recorded a mid-range reading of .098.
His licence was suspended and he was issued a court notice.

Magistrate Michael O’Brien noted that there was passengers in the car when the offence occurred.
“It is aggravated by the fact he was conveying people,” Magistrate Michael O’Brien said.
He was also fined $400, as well as being disqualified from driving for seven months and order to enter a community corrections order.
