District Manager of the South West Slopes Zone Andrew Dillon is urging residents to be vigilant during the bush fire danger period.
“We have had some incidents resulting from people burning in drums when they shouldn’t have been. Permits are suspended, you cannot burn during the bush fire danger period,” he said.
“We’ll be opening permits when the time is right in the next month or six weeks.”
He also reminded the public to check lawn mowing equipment, after crews recently attended to a blaze caused by a lawn mower.
