The Cherry Capital copped the hottest days of 2019 so far, with the mercury climbing to a top of 41.1 on Tuesday afternoon and 40.3 on Wednesday, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Many residents, and Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke, have chosen Young Aquatic Centre as a perfect place to spend time in an effort to avoid the heat.
Ms Cooke visited the pool and helped spread the message of water safety.
“This is the perfect time of year for kids to enjoy splashing around, whether it’s at a family trip to a beach or river, or just a nice afternoon at the local pool like here at the fabulous Young Aquatic Centre,” Ms Cooke said.
“But while there’s always plenty of fun to be had, we want to make sure that everybody goes home safely, and that’s why the NSW Government is working with the Royal Life Saving Society to create the ‘Swim and Survive’ program.
“The NSW Government has given $250,000 to the Royal Life Saving Society to deliver water safety lessons for children aged six to 14 so that they have the knowledge to be water smart not only this summer, but for life.”
