Wombat residents gathered at Wagenbah Oval to celebrate Australia Day in style.
Junior Citizen of the Year went to Leo Auld, senior Sportsperson of the Year was Tania Cahill and junior Sportsperson of the Year was Kelarni Layton.
Joanne Norris was recognised for volunteering extensively at various events, and for being involved in a number of Wombat community groups.

Leo Auld picked up the junior Citizen of the Year prize for leadership at Wombat Primary School.
It was the second year in a row Tania Cahill won the senior sports award, this year for completing the Hume and Hovell walking track spanning 440kms between Yass and Albury.
The junior sports prize went to Kelarni Layton for success in cross country running.
It was the 19th year that Wombat has held a tractor pull on Australia Day along with market stalls, a vintage car and antique engine show, street parade and art exhibition.
President of the Wombat Progress Committee Shelly McRae congratulated all the award winners and hopes for a bigger and better Australia Day celebration in 2020.

“That’ll be the 20th year,” she said.
Australia Day ambassador former Olympian Ed Fernon presented awards to the winners and mingled with the crowd at Wagenbah Oval.
