According to one of the fundraisers, Tash Downes, the group of more than 20 have all been touched by the deadly disease with close friend and fellow fundraiser, Liz, having battled the disease and is currently in remission.
However, that wasn't their sole motivation in taking part in the event.
"Everyone knows someone who has been effected by either cancer or leukemia, this is our chance to do something about it," Tash said.
One of the team members will even be waxing his eyebrows off for the event.
