The Hilltops Region celebrates two festivals in coming weeks the Jugiong Writers' Festival over the weekend on March 23 and 24 and the Lambing Flat Chinese Festival on Saturday March 30.
Jugiong
There have already been “Make Reading and Writing Fun” school sessions and there are two adult writing workshops on Friday March 22.
Some of Australia’s best know authors, including Jackie French, will be appearing at the Writers' Festival on the Saturday.
Then there’s delicious brunch and story-telling, poetry and short story readings on the Sunday morning.

Young
Spectacular Chinese lion dancing, a sunset lantern parade, Asian food, farmer and boutique markets, a major big art exhibition, Chinese musicians, guest nation Samba dancing, school performers and other historical attractions will enliven Young’s festival precinct this month when the town celebrates the 6th annual Lambing Flat Chinese Festival.
The festival will be held on Saturday, March 30.
Harmony Day at the Gallery
“Arts and Cuisine”, a Harmony Day celebration will be held at Burrangong Gallery in Young this Saturday from 12pm.
Taste ethnic cuisine, enjoy live performances, cultural music and take part in the official opening of the latest exhibition at the gallery.
Harden Truck and Tractor Show
The 6th annual Truck and Tractor Show at the Murrumburrah Harden Show Ground this weekend. The event, presented by the Harden Historic Truck and Tractor Club will be held on Sunday March 17, with gates opening at 9am. Entry is by donation and there will be stalls and barbeques on site.
Festival celebrated at Library
Hilltops Library at Young will embrace Lambing Flat Chinese Festival themes this year with a Pioneers performance on Friday, March 29 by local bush poet Ted Webber, and an author reading for children on festival day.
Author Helen Buck will present a reading of her latest work, The Dragon in the Park, a children’s picture book suitable for children up to primary school age at 11am on Saturday March 30.
Markets
The Boorowa Makers and Growers Market will be held on March 23 at the Old Court House Grounds in Marsden Street.
