The Yabbies were one of 15 teams to compete in the inaugural Boorowa Goldies Rugby Union Gala Day on Saturday, the Boorowa club officially opening its new facility at the Boorowa Showgrounds.
While rugby was the winner on the day, with no champion club declared, Yabbies captain-coach Ned Mullany said he was hugely pleased with his side's performance.

Matches were 15-a-side and 25 minutes.
The day concluded with Harden defeating Boorowa in the Annalee McGuigan Memorial Shield.
Focus now turns to the beginning of the regular season with Young returning to Central West Rugby Union's Oilsplus Southwest Competition.

Committee member Nick Duff said there's a number of social events planned for the club, and there's a good feel regarding the club's year on the field.
