Local businesses will have greater access to local opportunities thanks to a new business initiative sponsored by Hilltops Council.

It's a social network for local business; helping connect businesses across the Hilltops region.

Localised is a key economic development initiative of Hilltops Council and has already built successful networks across Australia.

Businesses across the Southern Tablelands are encouraged to join the network and do more local business. Businesses can join free of charge and use Localised to:

  • Build their brand and promote their expertise, goods and services
  • Find local business events and training
  • Share their good news and promote local business-to-business trading
  • Access more local business leads & hear about big projects and procurements
  • Find local suppliers - discover more local businesses

Hilltops mayor Brian Ingram said the initiative was all about encouraging more business spending to stay local.

"Our region is full of amazing businesses, both large and small, but often people don't know what's out there. Through Localised, the business community has a new way of coming together to promote themselves, share business tips and advice, find goods and services, connect to business events and discover upcoming local opportunities. We want to help break down barriers by providing a platform that connects businesses and helps to grow the local economy," Mr Ingram said.

Harden Regional Development Corporation (HRDC) was the first to come on board with Localised.

"Harden Regional Development Corporation was delighted to host the launch of Localised to forty local businesses, giving us the opportunity to highlight the benefits of this B2B platform," shared HRDC Chief Operating Officer Tony Holland.

Council encourage all Hilltops organisations, for profit and not for profit alike, to register their business, upload events and start to network across the region and build on the strengths we have with the huge array of services our local communities can provide around the Hilltops region.
