Fourth-placed Condobolin scored double bonus points in their loss to Harden, creating an unassailable six-point margin between Young and the Rams ahead round 14.
"We secured our bonus point we needed, but unfortunately Condobolin picked up two points," Yabbies president Ces Finley said.
"It was a strong win from what I've been told. We did everything right, just other games didn't go our way."
The Yabbies defeated West Wyalong 36-12 at Cranfield Oval, while the Rams did all they needed to do in their 33-28 loss at Harden.
President of the Yabbies rugby union club Ces Finley explained that winning sides can only get a maximum one bonus point, for scoring four tries or more.
However, losing sides can get two bonus points in a loss, if the side scores four tries or more and gets beaten by seven points or less.
"There's no way we can pick up more than one bonus point," he said.
Young hosts Temora this weekend at Cranfield Oval. A ladies game between Cootamundra and Temora is set to play before the men's game.
