Members of the Hume Camellia Society selected Young to host the event this year in an effort to support one of the smaller towns in the Hume region.
This will be the 20th year the Uniting Church Fellowship has held their Camellia Spectacular.
Organiser Vicki Burstal said it was fitting that Young's 20th anniversary event be combined with the National Show and congress.

"More than 60 delegates have already booked to attend, bringing with them many and varied camellias," Vicki said.
The delegates will be visiting many attractions around Young and surrounding areas during their four day visit to the area including The Rustic Maze, Iandra Castle and the Chinese Tribute Garden.
The visit concludes with a morning of interesting speakers, both local and visiting, covering topics from cherry growing to finding new camellias in China and Vietnam.
Judges for the show are coming from Canberra, Illawarra and Tasmania to ascertain the champion blooms from what is expected to be more than 1000 entries from a range of delegates.
Entries for the show need to be at the Uniting Church hall by 10.30am Friday, August 23, with judging commencing at 11am.
Anyone can enter the show.
Opening hours for the show are Friday, August 23 from 1pm until 4.30pm and Saturday, August 24 from 9.30am until 3pm.
The official opening will be made by Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke at 3pm on Friday.
"Everyone is very welcome to attend this event," Vicki Burstal said.
Entry is $3 for adults, children free and there will be a raffle, cake and plant stall.
"So come and have a look, you will be amazed," she added.
Organisers of the event would like to thank Donges Supa IGA, Poppa's Fudge Factory and Pink Pot Garden Spot who have been very generous with their support, organisers say.
