Cherry grower Scott Coupland of Yarrawa Fruits said the weekend's downpour has had no impact on the fruit.
"That amount of rain, 18mm, has done a lot more good than harm," Scott said.
Melbourne Cup Day, which is Tuesday, traditionally marks the beginning of Young's cherry season.
Meanwhile, according to the Bureau of Meteorolgy's gauge at Young Airport, the Cherry Capital received 18.2mm over the weekend.
Young agronomist Mick Marchant said the amount rain hasn't changed much in the Young area, however it has slowed up some farmers near Bimbi and Bribbaree who had started harvesting barley last week.
He said on Monday morning he'd had reports of up to 30mm of rainfall in those areas.
"It's held them up a bit, so the rain wouldn't help much, but they'll get back into it by Wednesday. And 20mm of rain isn't really going to help anyone looking at sowing," Mick Marchant said.
Young Witness readers highlighted that rainfall totals varied across the Young district.
On a post on the Young Witness Facebook page, Sally Hosken said 31mm of rain was recorded "four kilmoetres up the hill from the airport", while Georgia Pollard said she had 30mm at Back Creek Road/Boundary Road.
Dave Curtis said he had 28mm at Binalong Street, James Wall said 25mm fell "south side of town", while 27mm was recorded at the hospital, according to reader Ian Hodgson.
Suzie MacDougall said Galong had 25mm of rain over the weekend.
Christine Daniels said Wirrimah had 8.5mm, while Greenethorpe resident Jody Lee Dunn said she only had 5mm.
Cootamundra missed out with only 1.5mm of rain recorded across the two days, Wagga had 24.8mm, Cowra had 15.4mm, while Forbes had 9.4mm.
The widespread thunderstorms brought as much as 70 millimetres of rain to Brewarrina, while Bourke had 92mm across the two days and Cobar received 42.0mm.
Mostly sunny weather is predicted for the remainder of the week.
