Mollie only started the triathlon series 10 months ago and has progressed to the higher levels at a rapid rate.
After finishing seventh in her first event earlier in the year, Mollie took five minutes off her time to finish fifth at Kurnell near Cronulla in an ITU Worlds Sprint qualifier during November.
She then followed that effort last weekend in Canberra finishing the triathlon in a time of one hour and 18 minutes on her way to third place.
The event involves a 750m swim, 20km bike ride, and finishing with a five km run.
Mollie is now preparing for another triathlon in April and is aiming to score points again.
She requires only a top 10 position to be eligible to represent Australia in Edmonton, Canada in August 2020.
The dates of next year's world championships are August 20 to August 23.
