The Mounted Police Unit are visiting schools and community centres during their time in the Cherry Capital.
Inspector Jacob Reeves of Young Police said they'll be about town on Friday and Saturday afternoon and evening.
He said police from Young requested their support for the weekend.
"They are available to support operations around the state," Inspector Reeves said.
"While they're in town they'll be vising some schools on Friday afternoon and some community centres and attending events."
A team of four horses and four police officers from the Mounted Police Unit made the trip to Young.
Two of the horses, Jubilee and PD, accompanied by Senior Constables Patrick Condon and Micka Olesen, posed for a photo with The Young Witness outside Young Police Station while patrolling Cloete Street on Friday afternoon.
