With some major improvements that include the purchase of a new tractor, track maintenance and general housekeeping duties, all is in readiness for the second half of the 2019/2020 season.
The highlight being the running of the 2020 Carnival Of Cups meeting to be conducted on Friday night March 13. Tuesday's meeting will see a number of local interests involved.
Four trainers from the area will go head-to-head in the Cordina Farms Pace (1720m) and Services Club Pace (2100).
Glenn Schiller's trained Corporal Jujon will be aiming to go one better after finishing second on three occasions in his last five starts.
The seven-year-old gelding ran last at Temora last start, however placed second three times in a row during his final outings of 2019. Scott Osmond takes the drive from gate two in the front row.
Trainer-driver Ian Butt features in the gig of his trained four-year-old Isntthatright.
The gelding won four starts back at the Riverina Paceway in Wagga and will be looking to recoup that form on Tuesday night. He's coming off a fourth at Young during December. Young trainer Mark Cullen has prepared Another Buddy for this race.
The eight-year-old gelding last win was during March last year. Cullen takes the drive and will leave gate eight in the second row.
John Vautin's Bold Western complete a quartet of Young pacers in the race. The seven-year-old gelding's last win was October, 2019.
Stuart Maxwell's race summaries and expert selections:
Race one
Fumia Reactor is close to a win following placing at Parkes last two starts. Was forced three wide at bell then led when second to Im Alrite Parkes on January 8 over 2040 metres.
Studleigh Paul finished fourth at Bathurst last start when second up from a spell, could improve here.
To The Lookout has drawn well and was fifth first up Bathurst January 5. Likely leader.
Bettorbetbig is finding form, third at Temora last start was encouraging for his owners.
- 5 Fumia Reactor, 6 Studleigh Paul, 1 To The Lookout, 9 Bettorbetbig
Race two
Maudies Delight is a well bred mare yet to win from 20 starts, gets chance here following unplaced run at Wagga in harder company. Possible leader here.
To Be Feared has been supported and beaten in recent starts, close second to Petes Pet Rock at Temora last start after being wide middle stages. Rock This Way has been freshened since seventh at Young, November 29.
Winner this track October 22 before placed twice following that win. Alibi is drawn awkwardly but could surprise here if race run to suit the backmarker.
- 2 Maudies Delight, 3 To Be Feared, 9 Rock This Way, 8 Alibi
Race three
Isntthatright has been crying out for a draw and distance and this is cherry ripe for the locally trained pacer. A Wagga winner in October and a fourth placing at Young, December 3 indicates this is right for the four-year-old gelding. Bustling Barney is expected to drop back early but should be finishing on following a fourth at Parkes last start.
Another Buddy is trained here and goes well fresh. Eye catching third at Parkes last start should top him off.
Hey Suzie should back up after Junee and has the ability to be forward here.
- 3 Isntthatright, 11 Bustling Barney, 8 Another Buddy, 6 Hey Suzie
Race four
Ring The Till is ready to collect the cash here from a good draw. His recent form is good with placings at Bathurst and Parkes and looks ready to break through here following Bathurst run Friday. Topsie Grinner had ideal run at Wagga last start behind leader when second in fast time.
Winner of 11 races and well drawn here. Road To Vegas resumed from two year spell to finish close up at Temora last start January 11, 2020. No luck in running and has great chance.
Streamliner was winner two starts back then fourth at Wagga last start. Winner of 10 races and looks well placed here.
- 2 Ring The Till, 1 Topsie Grinner, 3 Road To Vegas, 4 Streamliner
Race five
Rocknroll Ava should have too many guns for these following excellent recent form.
Placed second twice following Dubbo win December 11 and looks winner at short odds here. Amethyst has awkward draw but has been in first four last nine starts. Second at Bathurst December 18 after three back pegs.
Kid You Not is resuming but was winner of two at Bathurst August 19 prior to spell. Bettor Jiggle is resuming since sixth at Bathurst, June 26 last year. Winner of six from 36 starts.
- 6 Rocknroll Ava, 8 Amethyst, 2 Kid You Not, 4 Bettor Jiggle
Race six
Shannonsideal will be looking to lead here and has the form on the board to suggest a win. Second at Bathurst January 6 and placed four from five last starts including third at Young December 3.
Josie Ella has had one start when fifth at Temora only start, look for improvement here.
Roll A Dream raced beyond the leader at Temora last start and an improvement is not out of assessment, should be going forward at some stage. Ma Koo Loo Masungu looks better suited here than when unplaced Wagga last start after leading early.
Yet to win in four starts but shows promise.
- 6 Shannonsideal, 1 Josie Ella, 7 Roll A Dream, 4 Ma Koo Loo Masunga
Race seven
Billie Kate was well beaten at Penrith last start but this looks easier from gate one. Ellen Shannon finished good first up second Bathurst on January 6. From consistent stable.
Petes Pet Rock was well backed and landed the money after breaking in scoreup last start Temora after leading. May repeat the dose here if allowed to dictate again. Ideal Flash won two starts back Parkes then fifth same track week later, racing well and not out of this.
- 1 Billie Kate, 6 Ellen Shannon, 2 Petes Pet Rock, 3 Ideal Flash
Race eight
Arma Reactor is the class horse here, Impressive winning first up and carried flat tyre when second Parkes last start. Best bet of the night here if allowed to roll along in front.
Smoken Alice has drawn well but will need luck. Could be the chaser from this gate. Tulhurst terror has a Bathurst run before this but has the draw. Second at Penrith last start.
Won Canola Cup Consolation October 7 rate 2:01.9. Four Starzzz Chef could be a placegetter here at long odds. Has won here and was third this track behind Sports Runna November 29, keep safe.
- 6 Arma Reactor, 2 Smoken Alice, 1 Tulhurst Terror, 3 Four Starzzz Chef
