The first grade men's side scored an emphatic 15-1 victory to send a warning to rivals that they'll be a force to reckoned with throughout the shortened season.
Four players, Clancy Hislop, Patrick Hislop, Duncan Cameron and Isaac Hines all scored trebles in the round one thumping of South Wagga at Wagga Showground on Sunday.
Rhys Lacey and Mitch Brown were the other goalscorers.
"First round done and a fantastic weekend for the club. All grades came away with points to start the shortened season," the club said in a post on its Facebook page.
All three men's grades are at home this Sunday.
The women's side plays away.
- First grade men: Young Lions 15 defeated South Wagga 1. Goals scored by Clancy Hislop (3), Patrick Hislop (3), Duncan Cameron (3), Isaac Hines (3), Rhys Lacey (2) and Mitchell Brown (1)
- Second grade men: Young Lions 1 drew Junee 1. Goal scored by Milo Dowling.
- Third grade men: Young Lions 2 drew Sth Wagga 2. Goals were scored by Alex Mitchell and Simon Major.
- Ladies Madden: Young Lions 3 def Henwood Park 1. Goals were scored by Lily Coddington, Laura Atkins and Jemma Long.
