The 2-2 deadlock couldn't be broken with the final whistle forcing the sides to split the points.
"It was a good result on the road against last year's premiers and to be honest probably one our better displays I've seen from us in the last couple of years. We were patient and were still letting the ball do the work in the last 10 minutes which was good to see. Also the lads didn't let being 2-1 down phase them and after getting the equaliser I thought we were probably the side that could have snatched the win but splitting the points was a fair result," Young coach Mark Mellish said.
"It was real end-to-end stuff and the counter attack goal we scored to equalise was described by one their old brigade as complete 'pure football',".
Young travels to Wagga this weekend to play Lake Albert.
